My Kid Is A Freak
My eleven-year old son has always been a bit…different. Especially when it comes to food.
When he was little, we didn't give him sugar. If he got anything sweet, it was sweetened with fruit juice. I think that might have had some impact on him, because to this day, he doesn't eat sweets. Halloween candy goes completely to waste. We have BAGS full of it. From years ago. Because in addition to him not liking sweets, he's a packrat.
So last night I got tired of all the sweets sitting around after he asked if he could have a Hershey bar we'd bought for s'mores. (Yes, I know this goes against what I said about him not liking sweets — he will get cravings, just not very often.) So I'm like, um, you have BAGS of chocolate candy that you haven't eaten, so why don't you have that instead? He grumbles. Eats a miniature Kit Kat.
In the mean time, I start tossing all the candy because I'm tired of it sitting around. But there was some really great stuff that I didn't want to throw away, so I gave it to him and told him to eat it. (I was kidding.) I walk off and start doing random kitchen cleaning, and pretty soon, he groans, "Mom, eating this candy feels like punishment…"
OMG, LMAO! How many kids do you think would treat eating candy as punishment???
My kid is so weird.

4 Stars for Pleasure Unbound!
The new Romantic Times magazine just came out, and I'm so excited — Pleasure Unbound got 4 stars, but even better is the actual review. For some reason, the words, "hard-edged" just make me wiggle with happiness. *g*
"There is nothing easy about Ione's sizzling new world in this first Demonica novel, where no one is innocent and everyone is fighting their natures. The author's hard-edged style infuses the story with darkness while taking it to sizzling heights."
There's also a feature on the site in the online content, so if you're a member, you can read it here.
Okay, I'm off to take a nap. I just got home from having some major dental work done, so I'm feeling like crap. This is the third round of massive work I've had done in a month, but the good news is that I'm done for a while. I still need two crowns, but those can wait. I'm sick of the dentist. Which reminds me that I really need to feature a dentist in one of my books, because I'm convinced they're demons…
