Eden Bradley, my anthology mate for Sydney Croft's Shadow Play (along with Stephanie Tyler,) is chatting about tattoos this month, because her story in Hot Nights, Dark Desires, is about a tattoo artist and a heroine who finds the ultimate satisfaction with him (and with the fantasy of getting a tattoo.)

So Steph and I are over there talking about our own tattoos, and how tattoos often play roles in our own stories.

I've done this a couple of times, so I'm running out of stuff to say…hence (love that word and never get to use it,) I'm going for random rather than interesting…

1. I have given CPR in an emergency situation.

2. I have a signed copy of the customs form Neal Armstrong had to fill out when he returned from the moon landing. He had to declare the moon rocks. No kidding.

3. I hate water chestnuts. Biting into one will cause instant loss of stomach contents.

4. I'm allergic to erythromycin, thanks to an overdose as a child, which caused serum sickness and temporary paralyzation from the waist down.

5. I've always wanted to train and work with a search and rescue dog.

6. I lost my sweet tooth while pregnant, and now, eleven years later, I still haven't gotten it back.

7. I never, ever go to movies during the opening week. I hate crowded theaters, and always wait until movies have been out for a while — no matter how badly I want to see them.

Just got official word that the title of the fourth Sydney Croft novel is TAMING THE FIRE. Steph and I started work on it today, and I'm really excited. It's going to be a fun one — pretty extreme, and with our first shapeshifter character. My Demonica books are populated by shapeshifters, but in the Croft world, they're harder to come by, mainly because they don't exist as normal paranormal creatures. (Heh–normal paranormal.) Ours had to be lab-created, and she's just not real happy about it. *g*

So anyway, no official release date for said book, but we're probably looking at late Spring 2009.

Off to write!

My husband's boss' neighborhood was flattened. So far, no reports of death, but all of the debris and flattened houses haven't been gone through yet. Fingers crossed that everyone (and all the pets!) are okay.

In less horrible but still icky news, this morning I'm getting a root canal. I'll probably be out of touch for a little while — paid meds make me sleep. A lot.

Okay, off to submit to the torturer dentist. sad
