They stalk me.
Every year, no matter where we live, a certain creature comes from nowhere to invade my house. My house ONLY. No one else on the block has this problem.
They crawl around on my walls. On my floors and cabinets and furniture. They hang out in my pantry so I scream when I grab a can of soup and they are on the lid. They LOVE to hang out in the light fixtures and bang around when you turn on the light.
And they watch me. No matter where I am in the house, there is one watching. Waiting to bite me.
And they DO bite. I don't care what anyone says, they BITE.
No, friends, ladybugs are not the sweet, pretty little bugs they want you to think they are. They seem to have everyone fooled. But they follow me, watch me, and they freaking BITE ME.
I hate them.
Tell me I'm not alone. Tell me that once or twice a year your house becomes infested for months. And it wouldn't hurt to find someone else who has been bitten by them, because my husband thinks I'm an idiot. (Though admittedly, that probably has nothing to do with ladybug bites.)
He is rather amazed that they do seem to infest our house the way they do…

And they don’t taste very good either. One fell into my husband’s drink when he wasn’t looking. My parents have this invasion also.
Unfortunatley, we also get the stink bugs and the boxwood beetles.

We get them here too. Though not until it warms up some.I read they are worse on south facing, light colored houses. Yep, that’s us.
Hate them. They are evil. And I’m not surprised they bite!! Evil things!

I used to have that problem. I also get wasps in my house too a lot. Ladybugs like a bright area so if your walls are white they will come in your house. I painted one of the bottom rooms a dark purple and haven’t had too many since. And they do bite. They usually come in my house around October so do the wasps, trying to find a warm spot for winter.

Oh, hey…out house is light-colored, so that might be part of the problem, Kacey!
Amy…HA! I SO hope my husband reads your comment…see, darling, they DO bite! It’s not just me!
At least we don’t get wasps. Just spiders.

Betcha they are Asian beetles. They
look like ladybugs. If you squish them
they leave stains…….so be careful.
Also the Asian beetle bites. The lady
bug does not.
Lucky you to be where it is still warm
enuff for them. We get them in the Fall
before the first frost here in Wisconsin

Oh, I feel your pain! I had an infestation last winter in my bedroom. No other room in the house. Just mine. Drove. Me. Insane.
-
At least it’s lady bugs. When I lived in the Wine Country we had yellow jackets. Still, you don’t really want any sort of bug in the house. Poor Larissa!
-
*waving to Lynn* She’s my mother-in-law, y’all! Must remember to not totally insult the dh on my blog.
Tori, that’s funny. They love you too!
Eden, yuck!!!! Once I left the sliding patio door open at my mom’s place, and the next thing I knew, there was an entire swarm in the living room and kitchen. I had to lock my son in a bedroom and then spend the next half hour trying to spray them.

I want to sympathize with you Larissa… But I had to deal with centipedes last summer! Inside! 2 inches, waving antena with a gizzillion spindly legs that keep jerking and twitching even after you’ve stomped them into a smushy bug stain under your shoe. MAJOR YUCK! ::runs away sreaming like a girl::

Hey, at least we live far enough north that we don’t get palmetto bugs. Those things are truly evil (I’ve seen some so large they could probably carry off small dogs).

Jaq…centipedes? YUCK!!!
Ann, that’s a good point. Those things are horrible. My cat used to hunt them at night, and I’d hear this awful *crunch, crunch* all night long. The next morning, I’d find legs and wings all over the house.

Ick! I feel for you, Larissa! I absolutely hate bugs, especially in my house.
My sister in Michigan had a persistent lady bug infestation problem in one of her bathrooms, but she doesn’t anymore. She moved to a new house.
And the first summer my husband and I were in our condo, we had a big problem with yellow jackets. Literally every day I had to do battle with 3-4 of them (hub was away at work). I asked the management company to come in and get rid of the nest, which was under a shingle near the building foundataion, but they told me to try to tough it out because next year the bees would move on to pester someone else. And by god, they did!
