Over The Hump!
I am now over halfway done with my first Demon E.R. book!
Huge relief. I've been struggling with it, mainly because I hit a point where things were starting to fall apart, and I could no longer make forward progress without going back to the beginning and fixing all the problems — mainly character problems.
In doing so, I've added to my word count and have hit the halfway mark. And what's SO cool, is that one of the big plot points will now fall exactly at the halfway mark. I hadn't intended it to…in fact, this particular plot point was originally slated to go much later in the book. But it works better where I decided to put it, and as luck would have it, it hits the half mark.
Today I'm hoping to finish up with the revising and fixing of existing material so that tomorrow I can begin forward motion again. My goal is to reach page 25o by Sunday night. Of course, I might be cheating just a little…I have a file of scenes I've written up here and there, and I'll be using one or two of these when I put in the new material.
What about you…do you write out of order, like when you get an idea for a future scene, do you stop what you're doing and write it out, or do you hold it in your head and write it when you get to that point in the manuscript?
