Women’s Fiction Meme
Womens Fiction Book Meme - Both Charlene and Alison tagged me, and their versions are slightly different, so I'm combining the two!
Contemporary, Historical, or Paranormal?
Wow, this is tough. And impossible to choose. I love all three, but have read more paranormals and contemporaries lately. I'm also WAY pickier about paranormals.
Hardback or Trade Paperback or Mass Market Paperback?
I don't like hardbacks — too hard to read. Trades are probably my favorites, but MMs are cheaper!
Heyer or Austen?
Austen
Amazon or Brick and Mortar?
I buy the most books from Amazon, but I LOVE going into a brick and mortar store. There's nothing like actually touching and caressing the books!
Barnes & Noble or Borders?
Borders. Because they carry Secrets volumes, and I haven't found a B&N that does.
Woodiwiss or Lindsay?
Lindsay
First romance novel you ever remember reading?
Okay, I'm horribly ashamed to admit this, but I can't remember the title or author. It was a Harlequin Historical with this alpha knight and a virgin red-headed woman he kept in his castle…yeah, I know, that tells you a lot. I do remember the first contemporary romance I read though…Linda Howard's Mackenzie's Mission. I was HOOKED on milroms!
Alphabetize by author Alphabetize by title or random?
Huh? It's too early in the morning to think.
Keep, Throw Away or Sell?
Mostly keep, but I donate some!
Bridget Jones or Becky Bloomwood?
Bridget the movies.
Read with dustjacket or remove it?
Depends on how much it's annoying me or how much traveling the book has to do. Don't want to bang up the dustjacket.
Sookie Stackhouse or Anita Blake?
Don't like Anita Blake, and what the heck is a Sookie?
Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks?
If the book is good, I don't stop. If it's not really good, I stop when tired.
It was a dark and stormy night or Once upon a time?
Dark and stormy night, baby.
Crusie or SEP?
SEP! Who I'm meeting in February, thanks to Michelle!
Buy or Borrow?
Buy my budget limit and then swap w/authors!
Buying choice: Book Reviews, Recommendation or Browse?
Recommendations, mostly. And then browse. Rarely do book reviews sway me.
Tidy ending or Cliffhanger?
As long as the main plot is tied up satisfactorily, I'm cool with cliffhangers, assuming series books, here.
Morning reading, Afternoon reading or Nighttime reading?
All of them.
Series or standalone?
Love series! If I fall in love with a world, I want to stay there forever, and I can't get that from one book. Want more. One Indiana Jones movie would not be enough, so why would one book in a great world with great characters?
Favorite book of which nobody else has heard?
I'm sure everyone has heard of it, but not everyone has read it. Pillars of the Earth. I LOVE that book.

And Pillars is WONDERFUL. Gritty, but just so…beautiful at the same time.
