My lists are quiet, the blogs are quiet…where is everyone? Watching the Olympics?
Well, I don't know about everyone else, but that's where I am–watching Olympics. I ADORE the winter games! And here in northern Washington, we get a Canadian channel that shows the Olympics almost 24/7. Yay!!!! I watch all of the sports except biathalon and curling, both of which are only a hair more exciting to watch than golf.
Oh, and I got good news from FEMA today! They are going to pay our rent for at least the next two months, which is a HUGE relief now that my parents have moved. We still have a mortgage payment, but we won't have to worry about the rent payment for a while. Yay!!!!!

Good news on your rent! And I’ve noticed the quiet, too. Maybe it’s a February thing.

I love curling!
I watched the summer Olympics in about 4 different languages, and the Europeans allows us to actually WATCH the dang things. There was dead air for a part of the competition, so we didn’t have to listen to the contant patter of announcers over the event. How utterly refreshing! (This was in Bahrain)
Here, they seem to be showing them from 3-11 am. Hard to see them and still be at work. Although, I can turn the TV on in the office…

Glad to hear they’re finally doing something useful. FEMA -
- ugh.
As for the lull in traffic - I have noticed this myself. I had a contest on my site - and had TWO … yes, you read that correctly … TWO entrants. Ah, well, maybe the next contest will go better.

I’m busy with moving stuff. Have also noticed the lists are quiet.
And yay on FEEMA - it’s about time they did something GOOD for you guys

Thanks, Charlene!
Jean, about curling…do you play, too? That seems to make a difference for me. I used to hate watching bowling, but now that I bowl, I find that watching it on TV is a little more interesting.
PJ–TWO entrants? Man, I wish I’d been blog-hopping more. I’d have loved to enter!
Good luck on the move, Teresa! And definitely–YAY on the FEMA stuff! Now if we can just get out from under our mortgage, we won’t need FEMA anymore. I hate having to rely on them.

I miss the Canada channel.
I loved the Olympics on that station (they show the cool sports in the summer, too, like kayaking).
I’ve got Olympic fever and while I was super excited about CNBC carrying curling every day(!), yeah, it’s boring. But the interesting thing to me is that no matter how much I watch, I still have no idea what the hell is going on.
-
OMG–LMAO, Emma! I’ve tried to figure out how curling works, but no matter how much I try, I’m still clueless!

No, I haven’t had the opportunity to try curling. Late night television in Brussels at the Sheraton in January–it was the best thing on. From watching it, I developed an appreciation for the strategy.
I forgot, glad to hear you’ve had better news from FEMA. It isn’t great, but it’s good.

Just had to come back and say: BRRR! What’s with this arctic front? Coldest Feb. in 20 years or something. If I don’t comment anywhere for the next few days, I’m huddling under an electric blanket.

I’ve been glued to the television, though I don’t get anything fun like a Canadian station. I’m watching women’s hockey right now which really doesn’t thrill me. So I’m not sure why I’ve got it on.

Great news about the rent, Larissa! You deserve a break!

I have been neck high in Fantastic Four and Hello Kitty premade Valentine’s Day cards. SOMEONE HELP ME.
Glad to hear you are finding some assistance with FEMA.

Yay for FEMA coming through. I hope they do more than that, too.
I don’t watch TV at all, so I’m oblivious to what’s going on. I’m in my own little world. LOL. Writing, reading, family and friends. I used to watch Star Trek: The Next Generation, but when they took that off the air, that was it for me. LOL.
-
My kids are glued to the set; my daughter is really into the couples ice-skating together thing (flaunting my Olympic ignorance here.) I caught one performance but the way those guys fling those girls in the air makes me cringe. I keep expecting the commentators to say, “It’s a triple half-turn….compound fracture of the femur!”
I did go and take advantage of Blockbuster’s 3 previewed DVDs for $25 sale going on here, and picked up some movies I’ve not seen (Alexander, Heaven’s Burning with a very young Russell Crowe, and the new version of Alfie.) I love bad boy movie actors.

Good news on FEMA/your rent!!!
I’ve been online less for various reasons, but I had noticed that I wasn’t the only ‘quiet’ one. ::shrug:: Real Life beckons, I guess.

Forgot to mention - I’m betting the TV station is one of the CBC ones. It’s all Olympics, all the time. Even on radio! At 6 mins to each hour, we get updates on what’s been happening. Today will be wild, what with our women playing for hockey gold again

Yay on the FEMA news!
I love the winter Olympics, but I never seem to remember to watch.
-
Yay–looks like I’m not alone in being totally out of the internet loop! Chey, I’m so with you on the Star Trek thing. But one of my best friends sent me the first season of Enterprise, and I’m SO loving it!
Teresa, yep–it’s a CBC one!
*waves to everyone and goes back to watching the Olympics*
