NaNoWriMo Contest
Okay, in honor of NaNoWriMo, in which I am participating for the first time (thanks to some rather painful arm-twisting by Steph,) I'm holding a contest. My very first blog contest.
Thing is, I'm going to be completely hosed by this NaNoWriMo thing. Writing 50K words this month is going to be hell. And who, by the way, decided that NOVEMBER would be the perfect month to do this? The only worse month would be December. So anyway, between all the hurricane crap, Thanksgiving, my son's school stuff, a writer's conference on the 12th, and MAYBE my husband coming to see us for the holiday, the chances that I'm going to make my word count are pretty much nil.
So for those of you like me, this contest is for you.
All you have to do is leave a comment–or email me–and tell me you are participating in NaNoWriMo. Simple, yes? So now you want to know how you win, right? Well, here's the thing; you win by losing. Yes, you heard right. The participant with the LOWEST word count at the end of NaNoWriMo wins my prize (I could potentially win my own contest.)
And what is the prize, you ask? *snickers*
You will have your choice of three of the tastiest MREs I have left. Yes, you too can savor Jambalaya, Chicken with Cavatelli, or Sloppy Joe. In all seriousness, these are really good. And before you balk, let me just say that the companies that make the food for the MREs are top quality. Honestly. You wouldn't believe how good the deserts are. And most of the meals are damn tasty. (Ignore Steph's comments after she eats hers–I sent her the nastiest MRE on the planet…research, you know.)
So that's what you get when you lose win my contest. See? Lose NaNoWriMo and be a winner here.
And the catch? Oh, stop whining…you knew there'd be one.
When you get your MRE, you must do a full pictorial and/or verbal commentary in your blog about your dining experience. If you don't have a blog, I'll post it here for you.
How's that sound? Really horrible? Good. Now enter my contest. You KNOW you want to.

Yeah, I wanna succeed at Nano, too. I got a good start today, and hopefully I can keep up the pace. We’ll see…
