I was planning to work on day three of cleanup for my next post, but I've been sick with the flu for three days, and then yesterday one of my cats needed an emergency trip to the vet. To recap this cat's history: his name is Felicks. He likes to pee on…me. He recently was in the vet hospital with pancreatitis, where he survived hurricane Katrina when it all but destroyed our town and the area surrounding the veterinary hospital. When my son and I came to Washington to live with my parents, Felicks had to go to a friend's house to live because my mom's cat and him wouldn't get along.
Well, the friend has a cat that doesn't seem to like Felicks, either. She bit him in the hip, and the wound became badly infected and exploded yesterday. Felicks had a quarter-sized hole in his hip, exposing muscle, blood, veins, and pus. Nasty. Felicks needed surgery to close the wound and insert draining tubes into it. He's now in my parent's sun room because he needs constant care that the lady who had him can't–and shouldn't have to–provide.
So anyway, that's the story. Hopefully I'll get day three up in the next couple of days. In the mean time, I had a post up at RTB Wednesday, and one up at Writeminded today.

Reminds me of a cat I knew named Spike. (Turns out the reason for his behavior was because the neutering wasn’t complete - my friend had her new vet fix that, and he was much better afterward.)

Felicks better quit living so recklessly–how many of his nine lives does he have left? I hope he’s feeling much better. He’s a toughy kitty and you both deserve a break!!
