Great news! For the first time, a Sydney Croft book got a TOP PICK review from Romantic Times Book Reviews Magazine! And actually, it's the first time for ANY of my books, Ione titles included. I think it's Stephanie's first, as well.
Yay! I'm so thrilled. Taken By Fire rates up there as one of my favorite ACRO titles, and I think it wraps up the series perfectly. I'm VERY happy with it, and I hope readers are too!
Here's the review:
Creative interwoven subplots bring together all the remaining agents of the ACRO forces for the final book in the series. The gripping, fast-paced story adds fascinating characters to the already talented mix and the sex burns up the pages.
Woot! Only a month until release now, and Stephanie and I are getting excited! And if you haven't read the series yet, don't forget, all of the books (except the newest, Tempting The Fire,) are all on sale in ebook format!
Happy Thursday, everyone!

Today I have some fabulous news for those who have been wanting to get the Sydney Croft books in ebook format but were not happy with the $11.99 price tag (and who could blame you? Steph and I weren't happy, either.)
Our publisher has lowered the prices! You can now get the first 5 Croft titles for $7.99! Yes, that's still pretty high, but considering that the print versions are trade paperbacks listed at $15 (but usually discounted to around $11), $7.99 is a much better price. It's a start, anyway!
Here's a link to the Sydney Croft Kindle ebooks
And a link to the Nook books at Barnes and Noble.
Also, I've updated my appearances schedule in the sidebar to the right. Hope you'll be able to make it to one of the events!
Happy Reading!

Isn't it gorgeous? Yayayayayayay!!!!
Okay, so what is it? It'll be the combined digital release of two individual short stories from The Mammoth Book of Special Ops Romance; Shiloh Walker's Don't Walk Away and Sydney Croft's Code Word: Storm.
Code Word: Storm is an ACRO story about Creed and Annika that fits into the ACRO series between book 1, Riding The Storm, and book 2, Unleashing The Storm.
So if you didn't pick up The Mammoth Book of Special Ops anthology and want to try a couple of stories or want the Creed and Annika story to round out your collection of ACRO books, you'll have your chance. Even better, you get Shiloh's story!
We'll let you know more when we have a firmer release timeframe, and then we'll be sure to tell you when it's up on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and all the other ebook retailers!

Yay! Stephanie and I have cover copy for our sixth Sydney Croft book! We just finished copyedits on the book, so it's fully engulfed in production now. It's real!
I really love this book…for me, it's right up there with Unleashing the Storm and Seduced by the Storm as my favorite. I just love how it came together and ends the series in a big finale.
Anyway, here's the copy!
HIS MISSION WAS TO TAKE HER OUT.
BUT DESIRE GOT IN THE WAY.
A product of genetic manipulation, Melanie Milan shares a body with her malevolent sister Phoebe. A sleek, blonde predator with a heart of pure darkness, Phoebe puts their body through the wicked underbelly of sex for thrills—when she’s not igniting her pyrokinetic skills for an evil organization bent on taking over the world. Melanie rarely gets out to play—much less fall in love. But that changes when rival ARCO agent Stryker Wills shows up, with a mission to take out the woman who torched his partner.
An operative with rare abilities, Stryker soon realizes that the woman he’s about to kill isn’t the murderous fire starter he’s hunting. But he does want her. Melanie, with the power to ice anything in her path, is heating things up in ways that are setting his blood on fire. As long as Melanie stays in control, she is his best ally to bring down her sister and stop hellish havoc from being unleashed. Walking a tightrope of longing and hate, Stryker and Melanie begin to understand that true power lies in sweet surrender to each other, to the fire between them, to the erotic adventure that’s joined their hearts and abilities to become their salvation—and perhaps the world’s.

Shockwaves shoot through the Agency for Covert Rare Operatives (ACRO) when horrific video surfaces from the Brazilian rain forest. A team of Navy SEALs has been nearly wiped out by something sinister and superhuman. Now ACRO agents Sela Kahne and Marlena West head to the world’s most unforgiving jungle in pursuit of a mythical monstrosity with a taste for human blood. And the only path that will take them to the creature runs through two men, each hiding his own dark secret.
Sela is an expert on cryptozoology with a sideline skill that could prove invaluable: when she makes love to a man, she engulfs his innermost thoughts. Teamed with Marlena, Sela makes contact with the lone SEAL survivor, Chance McCormack. Meanwhile Logan Mills, the man who rescued Chance, leads his private company on a hunt that has nothing to do with saving lives. Soon, Sela will put her supernatural charms to work on Logan, determined to extract information about the creature they are seeking. But in this sweat-drenched realm of danger and deception, Logan is more than just a passive target. He has the power to lead a highly-trained seducer into a jungle without any rules, without any limits—and no end to the heat.
Yay! Tempting The Fire has finally released! It's been a year between Croft releases, so it's nice to see this book hit the shelves. I love, love, love this cover — probably my favorite so far.
Now, if you haven't read any of the Croft books, I have to say…I don't recommend starting with this one. It's the fifth in a series of six, so by this point, we're setting up the big finale, so you might be a little lost. I definitely recommend starting with Riding The Storm (book 1) or Unleashing The Storm (book 2.)
Romantic Times magazine gave it 4 stars and says, "A mythical creature, a couple of truly hot guys and sizzling sex make this ACRO (Agency for Covert Rare Operatives) entry a spicy and fabulously entertaining tale. Even the subplot has richly drawn characters and a smartly developed plot." Awesome!

Hope you enjoy!

In other news, I apologize for being so scarce, but want to thank everyone for their support and prayers and positive thoughts. They worked! Things have improved, and though I'm still on the west coast to stay with my parents and help out, we're staying upbeat (and busy.)
I hope to be online more in the coming weeks, though this week is full of deadline hell and doctor appointments. I think once I get home (around mid-August, probably) things should settle down. And with any luck, I'll have some back cover copy and new book covers to show you!
Hope all is well with everyone, and happy reading!
Hugs!

Hi everyone!
I was supposed to post yesterday, but got busy with last-day-of-school stuff, so I'm a little late.
Anyway, the Lori Foster event was awesome! Getting up at 4:45 AM to drive down to Ohio was not awesome, but the trip was great. I picked up Barbara Vey and Amy Knupp in Milwaukee, and we (well, I) had fun on the drive. Amy and I were like freaking Lucy and Ethel, so it was a good thing we had Barbara with us, even though I'm pretty sure we scared her to death (the way Amy's driving scared me.) Ahem.
Here's a bit of her account of the trip, plus pics! (I don't have pics because my husband had our only camera on HIS trip.)
And here's some of Barbara's blog account of the trip!
So we got to Cincinnati alive (miracle) and then the weekend went really fast. I met so many awesome people…readers, authors…industry folks. It was great! Oh, and I won a raffle basket! It had beach stuff in it for a picnic, and since we have beaches all around us, I'm sure I'll get some use out of it this summer.
The hotel was nice — the staff was all super friendly. It was quite awesome, really.
So I stayed up too late, ate too much, drank too much (well, not really on that last part…I was actually really good!) and then we had to drive home. Again, it was a good drive — Amy didn't almost kill us, which is a plus.
We did encounter a really bad accident, and then we stopped at KFC and encountered a disturbing situation in which a man was transporting a ragtag pack of mixed-breed dogs on a makeshift trailer in rusty, too-small cages. He told someone he was taking them to sell. Um…there are only two reasons you'd sell that many mixed-breed dogs, and that's either to a medical researcher or as dogfighting bait. I'm just sick that there was really nothing we could do. I still regret not doing something.
Anyway, so I'm home and recovered, and I want to say that if anyone has the chance to go to the event next year, it's totally worth it. The low cost as well as reasonable hotel rates makes it a bargain!
Now…the covers!
Stephanie and I got the German versions of Riding The Storm and Unleashing The Storm! I can't wait to get the copies — the covers are gorgeous. Riding The Storm is the one with the woman, and the one with the man is Unleashing.
Looking forward to seeing what they do with Seduced By The Storm!

And now, one other announcement — check back on Monday, because I'm going to be asking you some questions…because I need some help. And one person who helps me out will win a tote bag AND…an ARC of Sin Undone!
So be sure to check back!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Just got word that the sixth Sydney Croft book has a title! Which means cover copy and a cover will come soon. Yay!
Anyway, joining the lineup of ACRO books will be TAKEN BY FIRE, and it's scheduled for late spring/early summer of next year. Now we just have to get the book finished!
Hope everyone is doing well! I'm heading back into the deadline cave…

The prophecies were there but no one listened. Until now.
They are the Lords of Deliverance and they have the power to usher in Doomsday…or prevent it.
Yep, got the official word…the Demonica spinoff series about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will launch in April 2011 with Eternal Rider, book 1!
The series title will be The Lords of Deliverance, and you'll meet the first hero, Ares (War) in Sin Undone. Very excited. The book is due to my editor at the beginning of June, and I don't have NEARLY enough done yet, so I'll be a little quiet until I get Ares wrestled into submission. (As if…the dude is called War for a reason.)
Then, after I turn in Eternal Rider, Steph and I have to rock out the sixth ACRO book by the beginning of July, so again, I'll be pretty busy. I figure all of July and August will be taken by revisions to both books, so yeah, summer is looking kind of scary, time-wise!
Hope all is well with you, and that spring is treating you well!
Have a nice week, everyone!
Hugs!

FINALLY! Stephanie Tyler and I got our Sydney Croft site updated with new pages and excerpts for upcoming releases. So if you've been wondering about Tempting The Fire, the page is all set to go!
Hope you have all been well! I'm going to be a little scarce — between deadlines and some medical issues, I'm going to be unplugging a bit.
Have a great day, everyone!
