I have read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies as well as Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters. I am a huge fan of the romantic classics especially anything written by Jane Austen. I got all excited when PBS did the three part Masterpiece series of Emma during January-February.

I have enjoyed the hybrid classics that I have read. I found that rather than completely destroy the original essence of the story telling the hybrids kept the language and character concepts but added paranormal drama and horror...and I am a big fan of horror.

Now if you are someone who does not enjoy reading the classics then I don't recommend them because they do maintain the original language. However, if you are a fan of classic romantic fiction and just hearing the name Mr. Darcy brings a pitter patter to your heart then you should definitely read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

I plan on reading Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I am a professional historian of American history so the idea of a fiction piece about Abe as a vampire slayer cracks me up. I also want to read Mr. Darcy Vampyre....what could make Mr. Darcy even dreamier...turn him into a vampire.:)

Books that I would like to see hybridized..Vanity Fair: A Novel without a Hero, Wuthering Heights, any of F. Scott Fitzgeralds books would be great especially Tender is the Night. Heck, maybe even Gone with the Wind. I am sure there are more that I could add later but for now that is all I can come up with.
