Is It Just Me?

Every holiday season, car commercials change. They turn into advertisements for Christmas presents. You see expensive cars all wrapped in ribbons, and some woman coming out of the house to find this new car with a bow in the driveway.

Um…seriously?

Had they discussed getting this car? Was it out of the blue? Is this guy rich and the car came out of HIS bank account and not their joint one?

Yeah, leave it to me to start playing out all the scenarios, but sheesh, I'd kill my husband if I got up on Christmas morning to find ourselves 50K in debt and a BMW in my driveway. (Not that I wouldn't like a BMW, mind you!)

I dunno. The car commercials are just weird.

No, you are not the only one who wonders about it. And frankly, even if he was very wealthy, I would hope she had let him know she wanted it.

    LOL Larissa!

No you are not the only one who finds it off the wall. As you say, seriously? I somehow don’t think a large item like a car that most ordinary people finance over years to own would be found in the driveway with a big bow on it! lol

Except in a romance novel maybe where the guy is ultra rich. lol

    All the best

I agree that the car commercials are odd at this time of year. Personally, I wouldn’t want to get a car as my Christmas gift, especially if it’s not something that had been decided on beforehand. Silly commercials.

Oh my gosh!!! I have always felt that way about those commercials. Who in the world goes and buys a Lexus and has it waiting in the driveway as a Christmas present? Not the average person.

Have a Merry Christmas Larissa :)

I agree w/ you that it is weird. I actually do know someone that it happened to, though. The wife of my ex-box actually bought him a Corvette for his birthday (a brand new one). I’m sure it was complete w/ a bow and everything.
